What Is My Approach and How Does It Work

My approach is based on the ALFA Method, created by Rosanna Dinnebier, which uses body reading to foster personal growth and leadership. My focus is on empowering clients and supporting their autonomy so they feel stronger without becoming dependent on the process. The pace of the work is guided by the client—their level of engagement and how they apply the techniques—always aligned with their personal goals.

I use techniques such as the exploration of unconscious patterns, vocal and physical work, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, with a constant focus on the present moment and personal responsibility. I view each individual as a whole—mind, body, and emotions. The client is responsible for their journey, exploring the past, facing current challenges, and focusing on future growth, always balancing awareness with action.

With my background as an artist—and especially as a practitioner and teacher of Hatha Yoga, Choreographic Theatre, and voice work in the tradition of the Roy Hart Theatre in France—I offer a unique opportunity to apply the principles of integrative therapy using body reading as a starting point. My expertise aligns with body awareness and voice as tools for self-knowledge.

I create a safe environment where clients can explore their emotional and psychological wounds, and my goal is to help you gain clarity around mental beliefs and patterns, promoting empowerment and autonomy in your choices. For me, integrative therapy is a powerful tool for reclaiming individual strength and supporting personal freedom. I don’t fix anyone. I simply help you remember who you truly are.

PERSONALIZED TREATMENT

Initial evaluation: ANAMNESIS

In our context, anamnesis it’s a diagnostic process rooted in the body-mind connection. I will listen, observe, and map emotional patterns and blockages that manifest physically and emotionally. The goal is to identify the most affected areas (work, relationships, self-care, etc) to inform what needs to be worked on in subsequent sessions. This session usually takes about 2 hours.

BODY READING

In this session, we’ll explore emotional patterns, habits, and energetic blockages that shape how you move through life. You’ll gain insight into your body as a source of truth and healing. We'll begin improving your physical and emotional self-care and address emotional wounds identified in the anamnesis, guiding you toward embodiment and personal transformation. The session lasts 1h30m.

FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS

In these follow-up sessions, we will continue working on specific exercises tailored just for you to heal YOUR specific wounds. These follow-up sessions can be between 5 and 8 sessions for the full treatment. THEY ARE IMPERATIVE FOR FULL RESULTS!

about me

Hello!

I’m Debora Balardini — a Brazilian-Italian-American who has been living in the United States for over 30 years. I dedicate my life to working with the body as a channel for expression and transformation.
I am a theatre artist, voice teacher, and integrative therapist specialized in body reading through the ALFA Method, and a certified Hatha Yoga teacher through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in New York. I’m also one of the Co-founders and Executive Director of Group Dot BR, the only Brazilian theater company in New York, where I’ve been working for over thirteen years as an actress, director, and producer.
My professional journey spans more than 38 years of experience with the vocal tradition of the Roy Hart Theatre in the South of France and the Choreographic Theatre from the Pantheatre Company in Paris. My projects often value collaborative processes in which creative freedom and autonomy are essential.
In addition to my artistic and pedagogical work, I see Integrative Therapy as an essential path to self-knowledge, integrating body, voice, and emotion to promote personal transformation and expansion.
Whether in a therapy session, stage performance, or directing a play, I seek to create spaces where authenticity can flourish and where the body and voice become instruments of each individual's truth.
The union of voice, theater, and integrative therapy creates a holistic path of self-knowledge and transformation, expanding vocal, physical, and emotional expression to strengthen autonomy, deepen the understanding of personal traumas, and allow for liberation.
My work is based on a reciprocal process. I am here to help, but I also allow myself to be guided. Every creation and transformation I experience not only comes from me, but I also learn from each story and discovery with my clients, students, and co-workers.
I work on myself and invite that same work in others. I believe that Integrative therapy is a path that brings strength; it has an enormous power to transform, to release, and to liberate oneself no matter what path of life one decides to follow.

How do I schedule a session?

Simply contact me via WhatsApp - +1 (917) 402-7961 or schedule your own session through HERE.

You will need a quiet and private place where you are sure you will not be interrupted. If we are meeting in person, we can make arrangements to meet at your place or mine. If we meet online, you will need a cell phone or computer, a good internet connection.

Don’t worry, that’s completely natural. In the first session, it’s common not to know what to say since it’s something new. I’m prepared to guide you calmly through the process. Just decide to work on yourself, and I will guide you through the path. I am trained to help you.

The first session will be a bit longer and last about 2 hours. The subsequent sessions will be 1h30m and take place online on Google Meet or in person.

Therapy has a beginning, middle, and end, when treating a specific issue, and usually a minimum of 10 sessions are sufficient and important to really feel the effects of what we will be working on. HOWEVER, it is also up to you if you want to keep meeting with me after the 10 sessions. My goal is always to support a therapeutic discharge, ensuring you feel ready to move forward on your own.

Unfortunately, I am not in a position to accept insurance at the moment.

Each session costs US$125 for 1h30m. And yes, you can pay in two or three parcels.

Payment can be made through Zelle or cash. If you live outside the United States, payment can be made through Remitly.

I can guarantee that I have amazing tools and insights to put you on the right track. HOWEVER, YOU are the only one responsible for healing yourself. I can only show you HOW.
